A. Introduction

Welcome to the world of Acre-age! This game is RPG Maker's first, and
maybe only Farming Sim! If you do not know, a farming sim is a game
like Natsume's Harvest Moon series. But before you start balking at
those words, the only thing my series shares with their series is
farming. And a little dating. But that's another story.

Acre-age is a game where you enter the role of Jance, and spoiled brat
who gets banished from his home and is forced to help humanity to
return home. He is dropped into the farmer's life by his elders and now
must contend with living life as a farmer and holding his main job as
an officer of the MID, the main policing office of Malonia village.

This wouldn't be so hard if he didn't have to worry about the
Landlubbers, the Pirate Mafia, who are abound to cause all kinds of
mischief. In fact, Jance wouldn't even be part of the MID if it wasn't
for one of their cronies...who does something unspeakable to Jance. He
vows revenge on the entire organization because of this.

So join Jance on his adventure to crush the Landlubbers and return
home.

B. What are the features of Acre-age?

There are so many that it'll be hard to list them all! I'll try anyway,
though. ^_^

1. Farming
   a. By using Growth Points, you can accelerate the growing process
of your crops. Each crop takes a different amount of GP, so be
sure to save it up. It is possible to buy additional GP
(see Trading Hub) You get 4 GP every day, but if you find the
GP seller, you can buy as much as you want. Crops grow in 9-plot
spaces, so you should have quite a few to sell.

   b. By taking your crops to stores, you'll be able to sell them.
Sell as many or as few as you would like, but remember that this
is your primary source of Qui (money).

   c. On certain days, townpeople'll need some crops, and they'll
often by them from you for a slightly higher price than you
      get from the Seed Shop.

2. Cooking
   a. For each of the 8 crops you can grow, there are four dishes for
it. There are also 5 different types of utensils (knife, mixer,
pot, pan, oven), and 3 different kinds of condiments (pepper,
salt, sugar). This means there are 60 different combinations
per crop, and a total of 480 possible combinations. Here's the
      process for cooking:

      1. Select crop.
      2. Select condiment. (Salt, Pepper, Sugat)
      3. Select a utensil (Knife, Pot, Pan, Mixer, and Oven)
      4. If needed, you can choose 2 different utensils.
      5. Hopefully, Bon Appetite!

   b. As the same of unproccessed crops, if you find people who are
hungry for a specific type of food, such as Carrot Sticks, you
can get much more money from them than you would a regular sale.

3. Hunting
   a. Once you have a gun, you can start hunting! The forest has many
different kinds of animals, and each kind of animal you kill
has a different type of meat. This meat can be sold once you
find the meat trader (who comes into town on certain days) and
convice him to join the Trading Pub (more below). His payouts
are linked to which health condition the prey is in. Below are
      the types of conditions:

      Diseased-Crappy Pay
      Poor-Bad Pay
      Good-Average Pay
      Very Healthy-Good Pay
      Exquisite-Great Pay

You never know what condition they'll be in, so make sure to
kill several of the same type to get the best prices.

   b. Each of the slimes in the forest has a different color. This
is their difficulty ratio. Below are the level indicators:

      Blue = Relatively harmless
      Red = Slightly difficult
      Green = Difficult
Grey = Very Rare...and very, very difficult

Don't attack animals that are stronger than you are. You will
have to buy more powerful guns to stand up to the tougher prey.

   c. Be aware that each type of meat has a different use besides
getting sold. Be sure to check the meat's properties before
      selling it.

4. Fully-Funtional TV
   a. Swashbuckler Today: A show all about swords hosted by Weio.
From time to time, they bring up ads for new swords that can be
purchased from the market chain in town.

   b. Lena's Cookin' and Datin': All about, you guessed it, cooking
and dating hosted by Lena. She has advice that is not good to
      pass up.

   c. Hunting World: Hosted by someone who oddly looks like one of the
town's residents, this show is all about guns. As Swashbuckler
Today does, they bring up talk of new market standards that the
      town's chain will carry.

5. Chicken Feeding
   a. There are 4 different types of chickens in the game, each with
its own special feed. Once fed, they produce an egg. It's up
to you to explore these different types of eggs and chickens to
get the type of eggs you want.

6. Trading Hub
   a. When you first start out, the hub will be empty and barren. It
will be up to you to drive more business to it. By talking with
certain people as you track down the Landlubbers, they will begin
working for the hub. The people will have various skills and
trades such as selling you additional Growth Points or purchasing
your hunted prey from you. Their items will never be in any shop
      in the land.

7. Dating
   a. That's right, you can get your groove on! And instead of having
your honey-poo at home, she actually joins you on your quest!
Each girl has special abilities in battle. Below are the

Rose: Daughter of the town's Priest, her mother, who happens to
dislike Jance from the start, she is a master of the sword and
has admirable offense. Her attack is stronger than Jance's,
but she's a little slower, though.

Elise: Daughter of the town cook, her father, and a bit of an
airhead, she is obviously well-versed in cooking. She has
relatively stable defense, though her offense needs work. Her
abilities allow her to whip up tasty foods in the middle of
a battle. How she could do that, I will never know.

Zoe: Daughter of the Pub's married couple, she is good at mixing
up explosive drinks that can burn foes or incompassitate them.
She also likes to read and growing crops.

C. How does a day flow in Acre-age?

A day in Acre-age lasts as long as you want it to. After you check in
with the mayor to see if there's any work to do, the rest of the day
is yours to do whatever you wish. Here's a chart to see how a day
can flow:

>>>Wake Up
>>>Check in with the Mayor
>>>>>Hunt, Cook, Run around on fire
>>>Go home and go to sleep.

That is the power of Acre-age! :p

D. Genral Tips

1. Check everything.
You'll never know what kinds of items and secrets you can find.
I mean everything, dammit. Stoves, rocks, drawers, EVERYTHING!!!

2. Visit everyone everday.
Since the townspeople like to say different things every day, it is
wise to check up on them or you may miss something important.

3. Stay out of the line of sight of enemies.
Sentries are usually walking in place. The early ones (especially
this demo) have a line of sight of 4. Try to avoid them if you
   don't want to fight.

E. Thanks and Stuff

I'd like to thank myself for my dedication to the project, first and
foremost. =D The rest come in the order I can think of them
offhandedly. :p

The best fangirl a guy could ask for! :D

RPG2002
He's been down with me for a while.

Joewoof
He really slammed my demo. HARD. But it did make me get off my ass
and really revamp Acre-age, so I'm appreciative.

J. Alan
His advice really boosted me when I felt I was lagging.

jerbils
This guy helped me when I was trying to bounce some ideas for the
cooking aspects off someone.

terrorist420x
This guy is cool. He gave me a few suggestions, such as having 9-plot
fields that I really liked.
